SEO Force privacy policy

1. Who we are
SEO Force is an app for Shopify stores that analyzes and improves product SEO and writes texts with artificial intelligence. The data controller is Klevie, Lda., with registered office at R. Santiago 18, 4460-807 Matosinhos, Portugal, registered with the Portuguese Commercial Registry under the single registration and legal person number (NIPC) 518635333, with a share capital of €2,000, who can be contacted at support@seoforce.app.
For store data, the merchant who installs the app is the controller and SEO Force acts as a processor, processing the data only to provide the requested service.
2. What data we process
- Product data: title, description, type, vendor, tags, variants, options, SEO (title and meta description), URL and images (including alt text). It is read from Shopify when the merchant uses the app.
- Brand settings written by the merchant: tone of voice, language, length and format of the texts, words to avoid and writing samples.
- Usage and plan: number of AI generations per month, subscribed plan and subscription status.
- Bulk editing jobs and store analysis: the texts proposed by the AI until they are approved or rejected, and each product's SEO score.
- Access session: the store identifier and the access token issued by Shopify. The session may also store the name and email of the store admin user who uses the app, when Shopify sends them.
SEO Force does not process data about the store's customers (buyers): it does not read orders, customers or addresses.
3. What we use the data for and on what legal basis
- Providing the service (SEO analysis, text generation, bulk editing, structured data, redirects): performance of the contract with the merchant.
- Enforcing plan limits and preventing abuse of the free plan (which is why the generation counter is kept for 48 more hours after the app is uninstalled): legitimate interest.
- Billing: handled by Shopify; we only store the plan and the subscription identifier.
We do not sell data, use it for advertising or build profiles.
4. Artificial intelligence and transfers outside the European Union
When the merchant requests a generation, we send Anthropic (the provider of the Claude AI model) only what is needed: the product data, the brand settings and, for alt text, the addresses of the product images. Anthropic processes this data in the United States. The transfer is made with appropriate GDPR safeguards: the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, which are part of Anthropic's Data Processing Addendum. Under Anthropic's Commercial Terms, Anthropic may not train its models on the data sent through the API.

6. How long we keep the data
- For as long as the app is installed.
- Drafts of AI-generated text (about products, with no customer data) are kept until the merchant saves or discards them, for at most 30 days. They are also deleted when the app is uninstalled.
- When the app is uninstalled, we immediately delete the sessions, brand settings, jobs, store analysis and plan. The data the app stored on Shopify products (focus keyword and structured data) is deleted by Shopify.
- The generation counter is deleted when Shopify sends us the store deletion request, 48 hours after the app is uninstalled.
- Texts already saved to products are part of the store and stay there.
7. Your rights (GDPR)
You have the right to access, rectify and erase your personal data, as well as to object, restrict processing and data portability. To exercise any of these rights, write to support@seoforce.app. We reply within one month. Requests about store customers' data made through Shopify are handled automatically (the app does not store customer data).
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority: in Portugal, the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD), at www.cnpd.pt.
8. Security
Data is always encrypted in transit (HTTPS). The AI key and access tokens stay on the server and are never sent to the browser. Nothing is saved to products without the merchant's confirmation.
9. Changes
If this policy changes, we update the date at the top of the page. Important changes are announced inside the app.
